My daughter is a Madison Square Alum; my son is currently in Ms. Victoria’s class (with the twins). I can tell you from personal experience about both the fear and absolute peace that a childcare provider can give to a parent.

When we came to Madison Square, Zoe had just turned a year old. We came to Madison Square Child Development Center (MSCDC) because our former daycare provider had moved Zoe to another room. This room was much larger and encompassed children from 1- 5 years of age with only a baby gate dividing the two groups. During outside playtime the entire classroom played on the only playground. In her first week as a one-year old, Zoe was bitten on her back (with visible bite mark) AND suffered visible bruises when pushed down the big slide head-first by an older child. I truly believe there is an upside in even the most terrible of situations. Here the upside was these incidents brought my family to Madison Square Child Development Center!

Thankfully, a Mommy-friend referred me to Ms. Olga, the Director of MSCDC, who welcomed us with open arms and immediately lowered my level of distress. As an attorney in private practice, I relied on the flexibility that daycare provided me. I told Ms. Olga I would schedule time off until a spot came open (estimated a month). Olga must have seen the desperation in my eyes (or Zoe's); she answered our prayers and we were IN after only two weeks.

My daughter & son have been in each classroom at MSCDC. Of course, like any parent, I am extremely protective of my children. However, because of my work at the courthouse I believe I have a heightened level of scrutiny. There is not one lead teacher that I do not trust completely with my children which in itself is INCREDIBLE. The teachers are not only competent & well-trained, but kind and considerate - and not just to the children. I have no doubt of the love each of their teachers has for my children. At Madison Square, the teachers go above and beyond to put parents at ease and are keenly aware of the specific needs and interests of each child. Several teachers have gone as far as to text me during the workday to make me aware of my child's day or simply brighten my day with a special photo of my child.

One of my greatest blessings is the Madison Square family and the unmatched level of care they have provided for my children. I trust them implicitly!

• The staff child interaction is special.  My daughter was very shy in the beginning and the staff made her feel very comfortable.  She has really blossomed here and I know it is because of the staff.
